The Colleton River Collegiate Charity Golf Tournament thrives thanks to the kind contributions of our volunteers and Colleton River Club members. Since 2012, individuals like you have helped us deliver an outstanding experience for players, spectators, and the community. Your time and talents make a significant impact, supporting not only the tournament, but also the local charities we assist through the Colleton River Collegiate Fund.

Volunteer Roles Available

  • Fresh baked treats for the players, coaches, parents, families, and spectators have become a hallmark of our community hospitality during the tournament. Members donate fresh baked cookies, pastries, energy bars and more for distribution during the two days of the main event.

  • Volunteers welcome players, coaches, families, spectators, and visitors with a big smile and warm greeting. They provide information about the event, give directions to event locations, and provide assistance as needed. Must be on your feet for the duration of your shift. Volunteers are supplied with a uniform (Hat, Polo Shirt, & Quarter Zip) and are needed for a 4-hour am or pm shift.

  • Scorers greet the players as they complete each hole, and record their scores on a the GolfStat Live Scoring app on their mobile phones. Live Scores are instantly available for anyone to see. No experience needed, Volunteers download the app at the event and follow the simple instructions. Must have a mobile phone with very good connectivity on the Dye Course. Volunteers are supplied with a uniform (Hat, Polo Shirt, & Quarter Zip) and are needed for a 4-hour am or pm shift.

  • Volunteers use their own member carts to distribute lunches, sand, and to replenish refreshments on the course. They play a vital role in transporting spectators, especially player’s family members, to various locations on the course. Cart Runners must be very familiar with the course cart paths and know the quickest routes to each hole. Volunteers are supplied with a uniform (Hat, Polo Shirt, & Quarter Zip) and are needed for a 4-hour am or pm shift.

  • Stationed along the fairways and other specified points on the course, Ball Spotters assist players and officials with locating errant shots. They signal the player if a ball is out of play and mark its location. Between player groups, they fill in divots on the course within their location. General knowledge of the Rules of Golf and familiarity with the Course is required. Bring a chair, bug spray and binoculars. Volunteers are supplied with a uniform (Hat, Polo Shirt, & Quarter Zip) and are needed for a 4-hour am or pm shift.

  • Volunteers are needed to help maintain the integrity of the course during the event. They fill in on-course divots at the end of each round. Volunteers are needed for 2-hour shifts at the end of each of the 3 days. Sand buckets are provided, you will need your own golf cart. This work is vital to keep the course in great condition as members return to play after the event. Volunteers are supplied with a uniform (Hat, Polo Shirt, & Quarter Zip.

  • Volunteers are needed to assist in setting up signage, flags, tents, etc. prior to the start of the Practice Round on Day 1, for 2 hours. Additionally, Volunteers are needed to collect signage, flags and other on-course material at the conclusion of play on Day 3, for 2 hours.
